I believe in red light therapy because it basically saved my life. I was diagnosed with cancer (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) in 2021, and it took me at least a year to find the correct diagnosis because the doctor didn't believe the lump on my chest was cancer and that I was too young to have it.
I received several months of chemotherapy treatment, and after the chemo, I was left with a big scar on my chest and a big chunk of my chest muscle missing because the chemo treatment removed all the cancer cells. After some weeks went by, my chest started having inflammation.
One side of my chest became twice the size, and I looked like a hunchback of Notre Dame, and the doctors didn't give me anything besides some medication to relieve the pain in my chest. I took the pain medications for a while, but none of them seemed to actually fix the root issue of the pain. Time went by, and the doctor started giving me different pain medications because she believed that I would be addicted to painkillers. I chose not to take them because I didn't like any of the side effects I was seeing on these labels, and I stopped relying on my doctor to look for any solutions because they seemed useless. I saw several doctors and nurses, but none of them gave me any hope for healing.
Days went by and I was feeling hopeless, and I didn't really know what to do. But I remember one of my coworkers talking about how some professional athletes use red light therapy for pain management and how it can be used for healing. I had nothing to lose at the time, so I decided to buy a red light therapy belt on Amazon.
I put it on my chest, and the inflammation on my chest instantly disappeared like magic, and I couldn't believe how much relief it had caused me. The size of my chest went back to normal, and although my back is not 100 percent straight still, I was able to feel normal again. I was in disbelief, and I showed it to my girlfriend at the time. She had some inflammation on her stomach at the time, so I tried to make her use the Red Light Therapy belt, and to our surprise, the redness on her stomach went away, and we were both in shock.
Now I own multiple Red Light Therapy devices to try to heal the scar on my chest, and the discoloration of my chest has almost completely disappeared. The scar on my chest is becoming smaller as time goes by, and I am hoping some day the scar will finally disappear. I have to wear a sports bra to stop my chest to constrict it and stop it from feeling pain but muscle is forming slowly to fill the missing part of my chest and I am hoping that once the muscle is fully repaired, I will no longer need it.
Another problem I am facing as a cancer survivor is the loss of my hair. I have received quite a bit of damage to my scalp afterwards, and it occasionally has inflammation, which has made me lose a lot of the hair. I saw some dermatologists, and none of them gave me any hope for the cure of inflammation. I used a lot of the different medications they gave me, but they were insufficient and inflammation never went away, and so I've been trying to treat it with red light therapy, and it is having some success in reducing the inflammation, but it is not enough to stop the inflammation entirely and to fully regrow the hair. But as I apply red light therapy and different treatments to my scalp, I am hoping I can heal it to be who I was again.
